1st International QEMU Users Forum (QUF’11) - DATE 2011

KEEP partners attended the 1st International QEMU Users Forum, held in conjunction with DATE 2011 conference on March 18th, 2011, in Alpexpo, Grenoble, France.

New opening in Computerspielemuseum

German magazine DIE ZEIT has published the article „Ewiges Leben für die Pixelhelden“ about the new permanent exhibition of the Computerspielmuseum (CSM), opened up to visitors on January 21st, 2011 in Berlin, as well as about KEEP project.

Toward a workable emulation-based preservation strategy: rationale and technical metadata

Janet Delve, David Anderson and Dan Pinchbeck from University of Portsmouth (UPHEC) have published the article “Toward a workable emulation-based preservation strategy: rationale and technical metadata”, 15:110–131, 2010; in December issue of the journal New Review of Information Networking .

DCC - 6th International Digital Curation Conference

The conference, held on 6-8 December 2010 in Chicago, USA, was dedicated to the theme of "Participation and Practice: Growing the Curation Community through the Data Decade". Keep project contributed to the conference with the paper on emulation metadata standards submitted by University of Portsmouth (UPHEC), as well as the promotion of KEEP on place.

OPF Practitioners' Workshop and Developers' Hackathon

The Open Planets Foundation (OPF) invites digital preservation practitioners, users and developers who are interested in becoming a part of the OPF open source community, to join us to discuss your requirements, present and future, from the OPF products and services. Colleagues from KEEP project also attended this event.

NEM Summit 2010 - “Towards Future Media Internet”

Our colleagues Sophie Sepetjan and Guillaume Badou Barthélemy from Bibliothèque nationale de France (BnF) presented the paper "Legal Implications of media and emulation” at the third edition of the NEM Summit (Networked & Electronic Media), which took place on 13-15 October, 2010 in Barcelona.

WCC 2010

Janet Delve and David Anderson from UPHEC attended the World Computer Congress (WCC) http://www.wcc2010.com/ sponsored by IFIP (International Federation for Information Processing) http://www.ifip.org/ in Brisbane in September 2010 as part of IFIP 9.7 Special Interest Group (History of Computing).

NESTOR - the German Network of expertise in Digital long-term preservation

CSM has founded the Special Interest Group “Emulation” within “NESTOR - the German Network of expertise in Digital long-term preservation“ and organized the kick-off meeting of this group on 6th September 2010 in Humboldt University in Berlin.

Eurocon 2010

KEEP project was presented by CSM at the Eurocon 2010 in Manchester, UK on 3-5 September, 2010. Eurocon is an annual event for classic gaming fans or emulation community from around Europe which has been running since 1999.
