WP5 - Integration testing, validation and technical sustainability
The aim of this work package is to test and validate the outputs from the technical work packages as a series of integrated solutions and to create and execute a long-term strategy to sustain the project’s outputs.
Although each technical work package contains its own arrangements for testing of individual components and, this testing focuses on the proper functioning of each component in isolation. This work package will be responsible for the overall testing and validation of the technical components as integrated solutions.
This validation is essential to ensuring that the outputs of KEEP will enjoy wide acceptance within the emulation community, in order that planning can proceed to ensure their long-term sustainability by that community after the end of the Project. It will also ensure that these tools address the requirements of KEEP’s memory institution partners.
The work package will be responsible for arranging and reporting on the outcomes of 2 pilot deployments of KEEP tools within partner organisations. It will also report on the observations and impact of these tools when demonstrated at the workshops being organised within WP6.
Finally, the work package will identify appropriate software licences for project outputs and will discuss with potential long-term custodians (including but not restricted to the Open Planets Foundation) arrangements to transfer the outputs under a non-exclusive licence at the end of the project.
This represents a change from the original focus of WP5, and some work having already been undertaken, this continues to be reported as part of the work package.
